How Custom Vinyl Toys Are Made: The Rotocasting Process
Discover how custom vinyl toys are produced through the rotocasting process, from mold preparation and PVC heating to shaping, cooling, and finishing.
Precision Material Dosing
We pour liquid PVC (Plastisol) into the copper molds. The weight is precisely measured to ensure consistent wall thickness.
Mold Sealing & Locking
Molds are securely sealed and mounted onto the rotocasting frames (spiders) to prevent leakage during high-speed rotation.
High-Temp Rotocasting
The molds enter the furnace (200°C+) and rotate bi-axially. The heat cures the liquid vinyl, forming a hollow, durable figure.
Water Cooling Bath
The hot molds are submerged in a cooling tank. Controlled cooling is crucial to prevent warping and shrinkage of the vinyl.
Manual Demolding
Skilled workers carefully extract the soft vinyl parts from the molds using pliers, ensuring no damage to delicate details.
Trimming, QC & Assembly
Excess flash is trimmed. Parts undergo heating for assembly, followed by oil spraying, painting, and final Quality Control.
