Resin Silicone Molds for Figures & Statues | MIHOX

Resin casting · B2B OEM/ODM · Flexible silicone tooling

Resin silicone molds.
Built for detail.

Flexible silicone tooling for complex figures, undercuts and fine surface detail — practical from prototype validation to small-batch resin production within a B2B custom program. Silicone is not a high-volume steel mold. It is the right tool when detail, demolding freedom and batch size matter more than millions of cycles.

The mold is reviewed around the master, undercuts, parting and the way the cast part will be removed and finished. A 3D and demolding review comes first.

01 / The silicone advantage

Flexibility buys
design freedom.

A silicone mold is flexible. That flexibility is the advantage: it can release shapes that a rigid mold would lock, and it can reproduce fine surface detail without a steel tool. It is not the cheapest way to make thousands of identical parts — it is the practical way to validate a sculpt, cast a complex figure and produce a small batch without committing to high-volume tooling.

Flexible release

Silicone can flex around undercuts and recessed areas that would need slides in a rigid tool.

Fine surface capture

Surface texture, sculpted detail and small features transfer from the master into the mold.

Lower tooling entry

No steel mold base or complex ejection system; the investment is more accessible for a first batch.

Faster iteration

Revise the master, make a new silicone mold and compare versions before committing to production tooling.

The advantage is not “better than steel.” It is more freedom at a lower tooling entry point — for the right quantity and shape.

02 / Silicone vs steel

Different tools.
Different jobs.

Silicone is not a replacement for steel injection tooling. The right choice depends on shape, quantity, surface requirement and how long the tool must run.

03 / Process

From master
to cast part.

The mold is built around the master and the way the cast part will be removed, finished and assembled. A simple prototype and a multi-part collectible do not use the same mold structure or finishing plan.

01

3D design review

Check structure, proportion, undercuts, parting and surface detail before tooling.

Output: tooling review
02

Master model

Prepare and inspect the master so it matches the approved 3D design.

Output: approved master
03

Silicone mold

Build the flexible mold with controlled parting, walls and detail capture.

Output: flexible mold
04

Cast & finish

Cast resin, demold, trim, sand, fill, paint and inspect the final part.

Output: finished part

Resin casting is not a fully automated process. Resin material and finishing requirements are reviewed with the part, not chosen after casting.

04 / Quantity & cost

A prototype.
Or a small batch.

Silicone tooling is practical for samples and limited production. At higher volumes, the process should be compared with injection molding before a recommendation.

PrototypeProject validation

A development sample for design verification and approval, not a retail one-off order.

300–500Small batch

A practical range for collectible figures and projects needing detailed resin production.

500+Evaluate the process

Larger orders are reviewed for mold life, casting efficiency, finishing time and injection molding.

Resin casting carries manual work per part: casting, demolding, trimming, sanding, filling, assembly and surface finishing. Product size, structure, detail and skilled labor all affect the unit cost. See the MOQ guide for the wider planning view.

Mold, cast and finish
inside New Miho.

Silicone mold making, resin casting, painting and assembly stay inside New Miho's own factory team, so the tool and the finished part are not separated between unrelated vendors.

Silicone tooling

Mold structure planned around undercuts, parting and demolding.

Casting & finishing

Demold, trim, sand, fill and surface finish under one roof.

Painting & assembly

Color, masking, assembly and packing handled by the same team.

06 / Questions

Silicone molds,
clearly.

Direct answers about tooling, undercuts, quantity and mold life.

What is a resin silicone mold?
A resin silicone mold is a flexible mold made from silicone rubber. It is used to cast resin figures, statues and parts from a master model, and it allows easier demolding for complex shapes and undercuts.
Why use a silicone mold instead of a steel mold?
Silicone is flexible, so it can release complex shapes and undercuts more easily and is practical for prototypes and small-batch resin production. Steel injection tooling is used for high-volume rigid PVC or ABS parts and has a much longer production life.
How many pieces can a silicone mold produce?
Silicone mold life depends on mold size, resin, undercuts, demolding care and handling. It is not a fixed number. For planning, silicone is usually considered for prototypes and small-to-medium batches.
What quantity is suitable for resin molding?
A prototype sample is part of a B2B development project, not a retail one-off order. Around 300–500 pieces is a practical small-batch range, and 500+ pieces can be evaluated for commercial production. Higher quantities are compared with injection molding before a process is recommended.
Can silicone molds handle undercuts and complex shapes?
Flexible release helps with many undercuts and recessed areas that would need slides in a rigid tool. The specific shape still needs a demolding review before the mold is built.
Can resin parts be painted and assembled?
Yes. Trimming, sanding, filling, priming, painting, assembly and packing can be coordinated within New Miho's production team.
